10 Bible Verses to Bring You Peace // April

The past year has brought many changes to my life. Marriage. Moving an hour away from my hometown. Buying a home. New teaching position. New grade level. Learning how to be the best wife I can.

And now . . . the most beautiful blessing of all, finding out I will be a mother. My husband and I found out we would be expecting our first child seven days before Christmas. It was something we were hoping for in the near future, and we are so excited to welcome our little girl into the world this coming late August.

The first trimester was just as expected. I was very sick and not able to do much. I had continuous thoughts of worry and anxiety. Things became much better as I entered the second trimester a few weeks ago. I am so grateful to say that I now have energy, no morning sickness, and I am feeling calm, content, excited, mindful, and productive - all things I am feeling very grateful for. I began to keep track of my daily moods and emotions using a pregnancy app. Through prayer, devotions, and listening to podcasts, several verses from the bible have spoken to me and helped me ultimately continue to remain calm and be present in each moment every day.

Here are 10 verses that have helped me in this season of life. I hope God's word continues to bring you the peace you are seeking as you walk through your own journeys with the Lord at your side.

1. John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives to I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

2. Psalm 37:4

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

3. Genesis 2:2

"So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all his work which he had done in creation."

4. Philippians 4:7

"And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

5. Philippians 4:6

"Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known."

6. Psalm 23:2

"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters."

7. Matthew 8:26

"And he said to them, "Why are you afraid, O men of little faith?" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm."

8. Roman 8:6

"To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."

9. Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

10. Isaiah 32:17

"And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust for ever."

Blessings,
