10 Bible Verses about Fulfillment // July

Summer is here which means I have been on summer break from teaching for about four weeks now. The school year from start to finish has always felt like a marathon, running on adrenaline, not truly having time to process and enjoy life. This is a balance I have been attempting to adjust over the last six years as an elementary school teacher. The intentions are there each year, I promise you, yet the execution of these intentions to remain balanced and find fulfillment always seems to be satisfactory.

This upcoming school year will be different. Not only will I have had a year completed at my new school and have a ready classroom, (which is also in a new district and city from my previous position), my husband and I will be expecting our first baby at the end of August - which also happens to be the same time as the school year is beginning. August means busyness is coming, and this year it will be the start of a new chapter in life - motherhood.

During these last four weeks, I have taken time to mentally slow down (and literally - third trimester here!) and reflect on what will fill me with joy, accomplishment, love, and life before this new stage of motherhood begins. I have thought a lot about feeling fulfilled, being purposeful in the tasks I complete, and the outside pressures of the world. I came to the conclusion that for myself, when I feel fulfilled mentally, emotionally, and physically, everything can and will get done. When I am purposeful with my actions and words, I know it is the Lord guiding my actions and giving me the strength I need to navigate this quiet, yet busy time.

Each year on my birthday I have this tradition where I choose a word that will be my personal focus for the year. This year I chose the word "nurture" as I wanted to prioritize nurturing and fulfilling my own personal needs, as well as the needs of my husband, new baby, and the close family and friends around me. Philippians 4:9 is the verse chosen to guide this journey - "The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."

God's peace and presence is already being provided to me, as it is to you as well. During this time of rest and preparation, I want to continue to focus on letting God's peace into my heart to guide my actions, thoughts, and words. It is already there - I just have to graciously accept it so my heart can continue to be fulfilled, nourished, and nurtured so I can be present for my loved ones.

Here are 10 bible verses about fulfillment and nourishment that I am excited to share today. I hope they guide you to the peace God is inviting you to bring in to your own heart.
